On July 17, 1944, the Port Chicago Naval Magazine exploded, killing 320 men — 202 of them African American sailors ordered to load munitions under unsafe, segregated conditions. When the survivors were ordered back to the same deadly work, fifty refused, and were convicted of mutiny in the largest mass mutiny trial in U.S. naval history.

Honoring Lloyd Anthony McKinney and the Port Chicago 50. By LaMar 'YoHan' Vinson.
